NaviStitch and Sail Loft News

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...

In the Sail Loft

Here's your invitation to the preview night of our Spring Exhibition tomorrow evening from 5pm-8pm where you'll be able to meet many of the artists displaying their work in our Sail Loft Gallery from Saturday until 12th April.

This year's Spring Exhibition Artists

We have over 50 artists and their incredible work ready to show you and we can't wait for you to see it all! Take a look at who's exhibiting here. We're delighted at the variety of work that we've got in the Sail Loft Gallery this year - if you're in any doubt over whether to visit, just take a look at the mix of incredible talent joining us - there really is something for everyone!

Coming up..

Although we're all about our mixed Spring Exhibition at the moment, we're always looking ahead and planning what's on in the Sail Loft. Next up is our Maritime Market: a nautical and coastal themed pop-up shop, inspired by the River Stour and our beautiful coastline. Goodies and gifts to suit coastal homes, beach huts and for those that love being on or around the water, it'll run from 16th April to 3rd May

And then...

We've got an exhibition from a first-time artist to our Sail Loft Gallery from 7th May to 17th May: Peter McCarthy is having a solo exhibition of paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolour and drawings.

Themes include still life flowers, landscapes and portraits.

And that takes us right through until the beginning of May, when there's a 2-week space before our Affordable Art Show.

If you're an artist or maker and fancy an exhibition in our Sail Loft Gallery, take a look at all of the info here.

Making Memories...
Nautical Stitched Commission
Nautical Stitched Commission

Here's a commission that I've recently enjoyed working on. It's a 'Moody S31' on an Imray chart. The boat belongs to my customer's dad - he sails out of Lymington and chose the Imray chart as these are the ones that he uses.

There are so many ways that you can customise your commissioned piece of work: the chart, the thread colour, the image, the location, the frame. If you're making memories and would like to celebrate them, or you know someone who's celebrating and would like to mark the occasion, think about commissioning a piece of nautical stitched art. Now that we can also take orders for bespoke framing in-store, the whole thing's as easy as 1-2-3!

I'm in the NaviStitch shop most days - call in and see me, or get in touch if you fancy chatting about something you'd like.

And finally

Don't panic ... you've still got 2 week to go! Mothers' Day is on the 30th March this year and so you've got plenty of shopping time to nip in and pick up something fabulous for your Mum.

We've got cards for all tastes and gifts galore - from tote bags, to ornaments, art and nautical stitched delights - we're here 10am to 4pm Wednesday-Saturday - if you need some help, just ask!

If you're quick, and you can't make it into the NaviStitch shop, take a look online and order a card - and flick through my nautical stitched art too - it makes a great gift!

Until next time...

I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.

Sam
