Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...
In the Sail Loft

It's the last few days of the exhibition by our incredibly talented friend, Anne Plummer. She's been with us for two weeks, bringing her most recent work: amazing, realistically brilliant barges in local estuaries, and marbles that look like you could just pluck them from the frame!
If you've seen Anne's work before, come and see her newest pieces; if you've not seen an exhibition of hers before, you'll be in for a treat. With us until Saturday, you can meet this amazing artist yourself as she'll be joining us on both Friday and Saturday

Coming up..
From 5th - 8th March, I'm having an exhibition of my own artwork in the Sail Loft Gallery - entitled 'Memories of Morocco'. It'll feature new work inspired by the geometrical Islamic designs seen on a trip to Morocco earlier this year, created using watercolour and stitching with a pop of metallic.
I'll also include some new additions to the 'Aquaholic' collection of watercolour paintings that I previously exhibited on cotton rag paper with stitched elements.
Spring Exhibition News

We've had a fantastic response to our Spring Exhibition - well over 50 artists have applied to have their work included and we're so excited to curate all of this incredible work ready to show you!
The exhibition will run from 15th March to 12th April. Here's your invitation to the preview night on Friday 14th March from 5pm-8pm where you'll be able to meet many of the artists displaying their work.
In the next newsletter we'll give you a sneak heads-up on who's joining us for our Spring Exhibition. If you can't wait, take a look at who's exhibiting here
In other exciting news...

Another exclusive bit of exciting news is that I am joining artists Anne Plummer and Martin Carter at 142 Gallery, Hamilton Road, Felixstowe as a guest artist at their exhibition entitled titled 'See Land Sea' from 6th to 12th March.
Although you'll all know Anne's work, Martin is an interdisciplinary artist who describes himself as "looking at the world to explore colour, texture and composition while creating original environmental art."
I'm certainly looking forward to bringing my work to a new audience.
Fancy an Exhibition?
Are you a local artist or maker? Did you know that our Sail Loft is available for you to hire and exhibit your work to our audience ... and we've got space in May, July and August this year.
Whether you're experienced at putting on a show, or if you're just starting out and need someone to show you the ropes, we'd be delighted to hear from you. If you fancy a solo exhibition, we have 2 rooms for hire and you can choose one or both. If you want to collaborate, let us know. If you don't want to exhibit alone, we can help introduce you to others. And we've got lots of display materials that can help you make the most of our fabulous creative space.
Take a look at all the details, and get in touch if you've got any questions.
Making Memories...
If you're making memories and would like to celebrate them, or you know someone who's celebrating and would like to mark the occasion, think about commissioning a piece of nautical stitched art.
Take a look at how easy it is to order your own unique piece created from maritime charts, both new and old - many of them fairly local. Always ask if you're looking for somewhere special - I've a huge collection. Now that we can also take orders for bespoke framing in-store, the whole thing's as easy as 1-2-3!
I'm in the NaviStitch shop most days - call in and see me, or get in touch if you fancy chatting about something you'd like.
And finally
If you're a gift shop or a seller of greeting cards or nautical wares, if you're a coastal retailer, a nautical-themed venue or a seaside store - or even if you have no nautical connections whatsoever but like good greeting cards, take a look at our dedicated wholesale website.
My many greeting card collections can now be purchased direct from me, online, via my trade website. Cards come in multiples of 6 and you have the option of biodegradable cello or without.
I'd love you to take a look and let me know what you think. You'll need to register for an account as it's a retailer-only site.
Until next time...
I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.
Sam
